ICI Domestic Violence Investigations

Course Description

This is an ICI Foundation Specialty Course that will provide both novice and experienced detectives with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct successful investigations of domestic violence. Students will learn specific investigative techniques, problem-solving skills, and case management skills related to the various types of domestic violence including cross-cultural, elder abuse, stalking, and officer-involved, with the goal of improving clearance and issuance rates.

All ICI courses are based upon adult learning principles. The classroom activities are practical, “hands-on,” and interactive. This 40-hour course is one of the Foundation Specialty courses of POST’s Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation (ICI).
