CA POST CERTIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING
POST Domestic Violence for First Responders
 
This one-day, 8-hour course is aimed at patrol officers and supervisors who are responsible for the first response to domestic violence calls. It provides up-to-date information to assist first responders in the safe and successful handling of domestic violence incidents. Instructors will also discuss protocols and issues specific to your area and jurisdiction. The course meets the continued professional training hours and the domestic violence mandate under PC 13519(e), and required Advanced Officer Training.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
Clarification of court orders


Officer responsibility under dominant aggressor law
Stalking
Strangulation injuries
Building the case for prosecution
Children as victims and witnesses
Officer safety issues
