PUBLIC AGENCY COURSE
CONFRONTING NEGATIVITY
IN THE WORKPLACE

This course is designed to address the challenges of negative people in the workplace. Employees at all levels of the organization are aware of how negative attitudes can turn a workplace into an environment of distrust at best, and a battle ground at worst. Both workers and supervisors report going home tense and angry, and find it increasingly difficult to be motivated to do a good job.

This course will look at the dynamics of negative thinking, its effect on the workplace, and strategies and techniques to deal with negative people organizationally and individually. It is designed for both employees and managers.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
  • The root causes of negativity
  • Characteristics of negative people in the workplace
  • Understanding “victim mentality”
  • The five steps of the judgment dance
  • Ways to deal with a negative person in the workplace
  • How the negative person can help him/herself
